Before the print run, there were prototypes of Series 1

 There are a limited amount of the prototype cards that were hand made before the actual print run.  These cards have plain borders (black, silver, or gold).  There are typos, minor art differences, different numbering on the reverse, alignment shifts, thickness variations, and a slightly larger profile than the printed cards.  The narratives are the same on the reverse no matter the color.

Series 2 prototypes are sold in bundles of 10.  There may be typos, minor art differences, different numbering on the reverse, alignment shifts, thickness variations, and a slightly larger profile than the printed cards.

Bundle A includes: Study 329, Kim Philby, St. John Philby, Rhodes Scholars, The Norman Lear Center, Craig Spence, Sun Valley Conference, Blackwater, 29 Pages, and Seed Oils

Bundle B includes: The Open Society, GRAS, Natural Asset Companies, George Soros, D.E.I., Astroturfing, Climate Central, 30 by 30, HEK 239, and Alfred Kinsey.
